Philanthropic Programs > Brighter Tomorrows
Brighter Tomorrows supports women and men who are striving toward a better future for themselves and their families. Individuals referred by community agencies come to our Thrift on 33rd shop and select suitable outfits to help make the transition to this next stage in their life. In addition to their personally-selected clothing, coats and shoes, clients are also provided with new underwear, personal care products and vouchers for new shoes and hair care. Last year, nearly 300 clients benefited from these services.
On Mother's and Father's Day, Assistance League volunteers brighten Road Home residents by providing colorful bags of useful daily items.
This year Brighter Tomorrows initiated a new scholarship program in support of women trying to improve their employment status by seeking GED accreditation and further skills training. These Assistance League scholarships pay for their GED test and up to 3 months of training and development.
