Philanthropic Programs > Assault Survivor Kits

Sexual assault makes no distinction of economic status, age, race, gender or location.

Assault Survivor Kits were created to help meet some of the immediate needs of individuals victimized by this crime and, in this past year, have also been supplied to victims of methamphetamine abuse.

The kits contain clothing and personal hygiene products to help restore items taken for evidence. Managed by Consociates Auxiliary of Assistance League, more than 300 Assault Survivor Kits are provided each year.

Each month Consociates provide 15-25 kits to three agencies in the Salt Lake Valley. The adult kits (men's and women's) are given to the Sexual Assault Response Team and to Rape Recovery Center. The children's kits (toddler 2 to teens) are given to the Center for Safe and Healthy Families at Primary Children's Hospital. The kits contain sweats (top and bottom), underwear, socks, sports bras for women, and a toiletry kit containing soap, shampoo, conditioner, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste and lotion. These kits help comfort and restore some dignity to sexual assault victims.
