Philanthropic Programs >The Kids on the Block™

Through our Kids on the Block program, this year approximately 8,940 elementary school students learned valuable lessons on a topic most often requested by teachers - bullying.

The instructors for this critical topic are the friendly cast of The Kids on the Block, a life-sized puppet troupe whose mission is to help children learn important life skills in a fun and memorable way. Operated by Assistance League veiled volunteers dressed in black, the puppets discuss what to do when someone bullies you and provide lots of suggestions for getting help.

To reinforce their message about recognizing and dealing with bullying, Assistance League also provides books on this topic for the schools and classrooms so that teachers can continue to address the issue.
