Because Utah's #1 children's health issue is unhealthy teeth and gums, over the past three years Assistance League of Salt Lake City has been exploring partnerships with various community organizations that provide dental care in an effort to help Utah's children.
This year we implemented a follow up program in conjunction with the "Give Kids a Smile" campaign. After children are seen and diagnosed in this clinic, Assistance League pays for their follow up dental work through a group of participating dentists we've tapped for this service. As a result, children are able to receive the often critical care they need to relieve pain and prevent further disease and infection. Our goal: more smiles, healthy mouths and improved self-confidence!
Assistance League of Salt Lake City has also collaborated with Salt Lake Donated Dental Services to provide needed equipment to keep their facility state of the art so they can continue to attract volunteer dentists who serve low income children and adults needing dental care.
