Utah's First Lady Visits Assistance League Thrift Shop

Utah's First Lady Abby Cox visited Assistance League of Salt Lake City on September 6, 2023, to observe how our organization serve others in the community. Encouraging local businesses, organizations, and communities to do service throughout the state is a key area of Mrs. Cox's Show Up initiative, and she was most impressed with the amazing work Assistance League does in the community.

Mrs. Cox was also impressed with the quality of goods for sale in our Thrift Shop which provides two-thirds of the funding for our philanthropic programs. Purchases made in the shop help us to provide each year: new school clothing to thousands of children through Operation School Bell, new books to hundreds of schoolchildren through Book Bank, layettes of new baby items to parents of newborns through our Baby Bundles program, and new items and supplies that help people through our other programs.

We were honored to host Mrs. Cox and her staff members and very appreciative that she chose to visit Assistance League as part of her Show Up initiative.
